Working in a supermarket I was approached by Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell off of Eastenders) who asked me if we sold scissors. I had to disappoint him because we didn't. He walked out, despondent. I wonder if he ever found any....
As a local authority planner, I can say that this sort of thing is the norm. However, we do only consider the planning merits that are raised in objections, and the number of objections received has no bearing on an officer's assessment of a case. It might sway elected members though...

When I was at university in Coventry in the late 1990's we were always told not to set foot in that pub as it had a reputation as anti-student. Apparently, if as a student you were to walk in you were asked which window you wanted to leave by!
I'm going to hope it's an AI generated image and not a scheme that actually got approved. But then again I work in the planning profession and I know we can actually produce this kind of thing without breaking a sweat.

My local authority used to produce a myth-busting fact sheet for the public providing the stats regarding how much of the jurisdiction was built on, how much was undeveloped, how much was designated for landscape reasons, how much was given over to agriculture or golf courses etc.
