adding to this that disabled people have always been part of Star Trek?? Geordie is blind and wasn't "cured", but received a highly specific visual aid. A storyline on DS9 (I think?) was about a person who was used to low gravity and needed aids to move in a higher gravity environment.

Disabled people are part of the future.
We must and should imagine and dream of futures where disabled people don't just exist but are everywhere, as we should be.
This need to fix/cure all disability is a eugenicist dreaming, and we should want better for ourselves.

genuinely, if you can avoid Amsterdam airport in your travels, do. There's a curse here. I don't know who in particular hates Amsterdam airport or why, but avoid it at all costs.

now we're taking off with a delay (in fact we're still on stand). Pilot doesn't know why, only guesses that it's a busy day at the airport. who could've foreseen that all of these flights would happen??? If only there were a schedule.

I had 15 minutes to make my connection (counting down from exiting the plane to gate closing) and made it in 12. I'm wheezing and still coughing because my lungs are burning. I'm still recovering from a head cold, so this was extra fun.

before anyone says this is because of the date: I've flown with KLM on all kinds of different days of the week and month and it's always a problem. I cannot remember the last time a KLM flight was on time or didn't leave my luggage behind.

now my flight is delayed by half an hour, cutting my transfer time in Amsterdam down to 45min. s2g, last time I fly through Amsterdam.

mixed bag of an early travel morning (night?). My taxi was early but gave me a 10c discount so I could pay cash. My bus however will be 15min late.
