I thankfully haven't had many of those situations in years. If I know it's going to be likely, I take meclizine or zofran.
I've only dared try progressives. 🤮 I'm done.
May still try lined ones at some point but it's too soon 🤣
I absolutely do get motion sick. Less so in cars lately, but quickly seasick. My mother can't be a passenger w/o getting sick and has had vertigo issues for decades. She took to bifocals quickly, though.
(And once I puke, I'm out of commission in a puke loop for a while.)

Modern VR tech doesn't make me sweat or salivate excessively, but it's also not as wowing because I lost my VR virginity a long time ago.
Believe it or not, the current VR headsets are much less pukey than before. I have the pre-consumer Oculus DK1 headset and ~15 years ago played around with it a lot. One helicopter sim in that would glitch and you'd be stuck spinning in circles, leading to serious nausea for 30+ mins.
This timeline has too many fairy tales.
I was familiar with headaches when switching to new glasses prescriptions but bifocals are a different beast entirely...instant nausea?!
I wore them for one minute and I now hate everything.
