The biggest problem with SNAP is that healthy food in this country is not affordable.

Policies that restrict SNAP purchases often miss the human impact. When a child’s occasional candy bar becomes unacceptable, something’s gone wrong. At that point, the policy looks less like reform and more like intentional humiliation.

It’s got to be tough being a 13 year old boy these days. You want to date someone your age but you’re competing with presidents, politicians and billionaires.

And many also agree that ICE was supposed to focus on the “worst of the worst,” not detain working families and day laborers who’ve lived here for years.

Start with shared ground.

That’s where real conversations happen.

If you’re having conversations with Trump supporters who feel frustrated, don’t talk down to them. Many voted for lower prices and affordability and that promise hasn’t been delivered.

There’s a good chance they already agree that we shouldn’t be getting dragged into a war with Venezuela.
