Watching 'Double Team' starring Jean-Claude Van Damme & Dennis Rodman and it's crazy that this movie won the academy award in 1997

Possible solution to the Strait of Hormuz?

Three panel comic. Panel 1: a giant squid wearing a yellow Bart t-shirt and some terrible hypebeast shorts is looking in the mirror. It says, “need groceries… but all my clothes are in the laundry.” Panel 2: the squid, now also wearing hot pink crocs, exits its apartment and says, “eh. I won’t see anyone.” Panel 3: two fisherman are pulling the squid to the surface of the water and pointing at it. An overlayed news caption reads: RARE SQUID SIGHTED - the fit was crazy

I (vaccinated) caught whooping cough as a child and got pneumonia from it. It was hell. Even a less serious case is painful to experience. I can’t imagine having a child of my own with it.

Since we're talking Polio.

In 2016 I got a Polio booster. The shot we get is considered "good enough" if you're living in places where polio is eradicated, but a booster is considered a good idea if you're going to places where Polio is still actively circulating.

Do with that info what you will

In the time I've spent reading your posts in the last month alone I could have read both the Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

I cannot thank you all individually but I want you to know that you have my eternal gratitude. ❤️📚🤓

"I don't want to have to explain to my kids what gay people are" is ridiculous. You have to explain everything to them! They've never seen anything before! What else are you doing this about? You don't like broccoli so you just refuse to ever let your child know about what broccoli is? Okay man

THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!

Digital art of two women gently holding onto one another. Both women are missing their faces. A reddish-orange tangled mass of organic material flows out from where their faces should be and connects them together.

A digital illustration in the style of a woodcut. It depicts the upper half of humanoid figure whose “head” is a flattened organic shape. A serpentine creature delicately wraps around the figure’s arm and into an opening in their face. The figure handles the creature gently.

Leaning forward, their faces are chained together. Their body language conveys that, while slightly surprised, are ultimately cool with this event.

As a way to celebrate, I wanted to repost some art that all share a common theme: surreal depictions of emotional vulnerability and connection.
