Exactly. Even with this recent chapter. Its apparent (to me, at least) that most people just want this whole mess to end and for the world to not be in the brink of destruction for their own reasons

Its like you say. Who knows if she just got that role of the strongest handed over to her and she doesn’t know how to deal with it. She seems very passive, unmotivated and maybe even scared

One of the more grating comparisons to me is the tales around her vs how she actually carries herself. Her own pawns disobey her and Fami even hit her. She froze up when Denji questioned her in the train and Asa couldn’t back her up and even Miri kinda orders her around.

I cant shake this feeling of pity for Death Devil. Or is it empathy? She just seems weirdly innocent in how she carries herself. She seems to always be surrounded by more active, boisterous or overtly manipulative types and I wouldn’t be surprised if she was just playing by someone else’s script.

The volume cover for v. 22 of Chainsawman also makes me think Yoru is here to stay and that there will be no future Denji and Asa dynamic that doesn’t include her. War isn’t gonna ever go away, as its evident in the commentary, but its going to be on them to keep it “under control”.

I sometimes wonder if the Death Devil really is some sort of master planner or if she’s just going with the flow and hoping for the best. Its not lost on me that her and Denji seem eerily similar in their unabashed enjoyment of simple pleasures even in the most dire situations.

While i was sitting in the bathroom for some reason I couldn’t stop thinking about Denji’s fate. I have no doubt its intentional that the forces around him are ramping up their “sex appeal” to get him to do as they please and i think his struggles are about to be directly addressed this arc.

Fujimoto does a good job making the reader feel as helpless as Denji whenever he falls into the same habits around women. He actively hates that part of himself yet he cycles back to it almost effortlessly everytime. Unless he reacts next chapter this is just going to make him more depressed.

If we weren’t cowards we would also come to undertand that Power was foundational for Denjis growth in his understanding of love, romance and the nature of interpersonal relationships. If Makima didn’t set out to tear it all down, the wonderful dynamic we would have by now…

If we were to let our minds soar. We would understand that yoru having an actual romantic adversary would make for peak character development. #bringherback

If we were to think without limitations. We would understand that the Asa Mitaka Devil probably exists.

Thats just irrelevant to this individual case. Point is, Its a gross abuse of standard procedure, nothing about that man was in any way a threat enough to justify turning an arrest into a beating. Its a clear abuse of power.

Sued for excessive force. If you need to punch someone repeatedly to put handcuffs on a non-violent individual who is already at a disadvantageous position (sitting down) thats either malice or gross incompetence.

We need to understand how crazy it is that Yoru backtracked on turning Denji into a weapon, even with his consent. Its also worrying how the story seems to be validating both their feelings towards Denji so i feel this inevitably move towards a “choice”.

How does it feel to have survived the prophecy?

Ok so she may have some “cute” moments but i feel this carries that extra ‘oomph‘

Yoru got ONE sweet moment and Fujimoto said “ENOUGH” in the most violent way possible.
