Sometimes its best to skip the political mayhem and just chill. Learning from this adorable axolotl!
Tell me more! What kind of teach in, and who attends?
Hey science and scicomm folks! What are you doing now to promote trust in science and positive science messaging? How are you using scicomm for good in these challenging times? Looking for real ideas, not snark, no matter how much snark is fitting right now!
If we totally fix the threat to coral reefs from sunscreen chemicals, but do not address climate change, we are going to lose coral reefs.
If we totally fix climate change but do not address sunscreen, coral reefs will thrive.
Sunscreen is simply not that big of a threat to coral reefs.
Science without communication is silent. Join us at SCIENCE TALK '25 to make some noise!

I listen to NPR and have only heard interviews with/stories of non-celebrities evacuating. They are often middle-class, not stories of the homeless, but not famous people. www.npr.org/2025/01/08/n...

I love apples...and climate change is impacting their production, particularly in Washington State. Alarming new study from my friend and colleague Deepti Singh.
Seeing a lot of anger and frustration here, pointing fingers and blaming people/certain groups. Not saying there isn't plenty of blame to go around, but what if we focus on potential solutions? Not being naΓ―ve, just hopeful.

We've been meaning to collaborate for years - let's catch up at ARO and talk about projects!
Pineapple for the win! Who knew they had so many chromosomes? But fish are the real winners here due to the whole genome duplication during their evolution.
Your whole experience stinks but I'm glad you used your communication experience and high profile to publicly fight back! You are a great spokeswoman for housing discrimination and I hope so many others benefit in the future.

I just read this article in the @chronicle.com about how academia could deal with abusive mentors. The author suggests nuance; separating the person from the scholarship (where possible). Thoughts? For academics, how do your departments deal with problem mentors? www.chronicle.com/article/what...
Thanks! Glad to be here and catch up on all things #zebrafish.
I finally made it to Bluesky! Excited to (re)connect with the scientific and scicomm communities and meet new people.
