i just dont know why us queer women gotta fight so much. what r we trying to prove. why r we having oppression olympics. its not pride yet but most of these arguments happen in june & i always wonder how we arent too tired to argue semantics. other ppl dont even have the privilege to worry abt this

whole rant caused by this bc if bi women at the lesbian bar is ur biggest problem then maybe consider that u are doing fine actually. idrgaf if someone is les4les like thars normal thats fine idk why we worry abt that but this type of argument forgets we hardly even have sapphic spaces at all

sometimes i just ramble on and on and im not sure if any of it makes any sense but i try

sorry i tend to ramble. but i think white queers focus on all the wrong problems and i think its very telling of internalized misogyny that almost all queer discourse in june surrounds women and where theyre allowed to go. and usually its white ppl who seem to want to ban ppl from the community

basically my opinion is if ppl went outside and engaged in their community they would realize we are made up of all kinds of ppl and that fighting with each other affects lgbtq as a whole AND disproportionately affects queer women and often ignores queer women of color

and it sucks bc like. a lot of the time we do have intertwined history because we stood together in times of need when there was a common enemy, but once that enemy is less of an OBVIOUS threat (still a threat) we start to become the enemy ourselves and forget how we got where we are

and i think this is the problem especially for ppl in minority spaces that are more than on minority demographic bc ppl DO turn on each other and pick on the weak when they finally get the power to, and usually rhe weak are those ppl who fall into both categories and therefor neither

its kind of like. bell hooks wrote abt how like when black ppl and white women didnt have voting rights they stood together as both minorities but black men would still be misogynistic and white women would still be racist. once both got a bit more power in society they turned on each other

and i think theres also a lot of history to this like white gay men pretending they spearheaded stonewall when it was mostly black lesbians and trans women and just women of color in general and wanting to separate ourselves from existing gay history in culture and the intersectionality in that

bc the obvious answer to all of those questions is that we are all queer and we are all a community who should support each other bc we cant progress if we fight, but i think its both like. ppl both cant accept privilege doesnt negate trauma and also that we STILL have a bigger enemy than each other

and it also boils down to misogyny and ppl not being willing to accept that we may have come a long way and now we have the freedom and privilege to even worry abt things such as whether or not this or that person is queer enough or who belongs at pride or what straightpassing is or if les4les is ok

so basically i think it all boils down to white ppl wanting a culture of their own and not fully understanding who the true enemy is bc theyre more focused on who gets to get the last word bc they tie their identity to how oppressed they are instead of who they are and their community

i must add that i specify white men as the ppl who benefit from this infighting and oppression olympics bc queer people of color are also often talked over in these conversations and i think theres a lot of white gay ppl who dont want to acknowledge how intertwined black culture & queer culture is

i have two actually and theyre kind of combined

i have an opinion #gametheory on why on pride month gay ppl start fighting each other that many wouldnt like to hear
