I was able to get introduced on on-boarded to the DSA Disability Working Group (@dsadisability.bsky.social) !

Looking forward to getting more involved!

Holy cow. Five different sign language interpreters were present at Mamdani’s inauguration ceremony: American Sign Language (ASL), Hebrew Sign Language, Arabic Sign Language, Indian Sign Language, and Spanish Sign Language.

anyone claiming organizing, "leftism", "socialism", "communism" without truly embodying and advocating for what's on this list may still be helping, but their view has holes.
we have nothing without our collective health.

The Disability Working Group of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) endorses the resolution for a hybrid National Convention.
We ask our members to sign on to this resolution! The deadline for signatures is May 11th.

We stand in solidarity with farm workers, many of whom are undocumented, who risk incarceration, including within the notorious torture facility of Guantanamo Bay, and their very lives to bring food to our tables everyday.

Their failures to protect the public in the past, must be weighed by the expertise they bring to any emergency that is occurring. We do not need a situation like nuclear safety experts being dismissed only to realize their importance later.

We call on all grassroots organizations to prepare accordingly, to protect members and their neighborhoods, both abled and disabled. We condemn the haphazard nature of layoffs of important public health
officials.

We have, and are still seeing, the disastrous response to the COVID-19 pandemic. To repeat the same mistakes and fail to appropriately respond will be a stain in the history books.

The suppression of important and critical data for the public and policy makers alike, to properly assess the severity of the issue, interferes with communities across the nation to formulate an appropriate response to save lives.

The Disability Working Group of the Democratic Socialists of America condemn the callous gutting and poor response to the outbreak of H5N1 and its variants by our government during this critical moment.
