I love my home in Vermont and am so so proud of the people we send to Congress. But today, my homeland pride from NJ shines bright- Senator Booker @booker.senate.gov YOU WERE PHENOMENAL!

@nytimes.com is notably sparse on medically related words in Spelling Bee.
This work is phenomenal- please share this piece by @fumikochino.bsky.social and @nathangray.bsky.social far and wide. Health insurance cannot be run like a casino where the house always wins.
"Repeat after me: there was no 'landslide'. There was no 'blowout'. There was no 'sweeping' mandate given to Trump by the electorate. The numbers donβt lie."
My new Guardian op-ed on the new GOP election lie - and why it's important to rebut it! I brought (lots of) receipts:
Sometimes the combination of arrogance and ignorance is breathtaking. Yes, US health care has high admin costs; that's because it relies so much on private insurers. Govt-run health insurance has much lower overhead
People hate health insurance companies with a passion. Theyβre not laughing because someone diedβtheyβre laughing because the system that crushed them finally took a hit.

HOW are you so cool and fun and creative? If I was an ASH-er instead of an ASCO-er, I would have found you and befriended you by now!
Health insurance is wild. You pay every month for months, years, decades, in case something catastrophic happens.
Then it does and the insurers are like yeah no not THAT kind of catastrophe.
We are so excited to welcome these three awesome physicians to our hematology/oncology fellowship here at UVM!
Thank you for your voice Will. While I know eyes are important, I think your legacy will be in helping raise consciousness to address the state of our health care system. And that we should trust our nephrons.
Scientists, academics, researchers: Weβre excited to share that @altmetric.com is now tracking mentions of your research on Bluesky! π§ͺ

We have so much to learn about why our immunotherapies have such varied responses in real situations. This research offers some insights that will help us continue to figure it out. #oncsky
As a head and neck cancer doctor, I hope we see the same for HPV related oropharynx cancers in the future. The HPV vaccine is not just for girls!
And how is this solved with the ultra processed foods and decimation of the healthcare system that triumph when we βlet the market decideβ?
MAHA. Not only is this an acronym that already has an anxiety-provoking reaction to hem/onc docs at least, but fixing chronic disease is a challenging outcome to measure in a 4yr term.
Oh God. We now all live in Pawnee.
This is likely the least problematic thing about her.
Love this. Time to make BlueSky the SoMe home of #academics, #medicine, and #science
Of course some of this is related to who has made the move to @bsky.app but Iβm loving the presence of #womeninoncology here! #oncosky #oncsky
