i assume dem leadership knows this, but i don’t think they’ll be able to count on fetterman for anything if they take the senate back; he’s becoming more and more juvenile and unable to control himself.

We need reparations for ICE victims.

Anything short of that is setting the stage for a massive wealth grab from people of color that will re-entrench racial disparities for generations.

they literally think that the primes can fix the missile production gap by just x5 the budget not understanding that, while it can be sped up at the margin in some capacity, they're digging a logistical hole that is now creeping into the timeline of years. this is saying nothing of the politics.

the reason why they're exhausting our strategic capacity is because they think production capacity is woke and gay while mistaking their own habit of throwing money at corrupt miltech startups as actually having a solution to future problems.

Me neither, but they’ll learn this war won’t end just bc Trump decides he doesn’t want to play with this toy anymore. Why would Iran reopen the strait with the threat of renewed attack hanging over them? Or with Israel continuing to bomb? They killed or discredited the pro-negotiations faction.

When pondering “lethality,” this quote from Sherman in 1865 comes to mind:

“War means success by any and every means; it is not fighting alone. Bulls do that, and bears, and all beasts, but men attain objects by intellect, and the introduction of physical power, moved upon strategic points."

Under no circumstances should Dems provide money for the Iran War. It becomes a ratified war approval. They should not game out being tough on Iran in ads or whatever. Do the right and Constitutional thing.

Hegseth should spend a little less time worrying about how he looks in photos and a little more time fixing the fucking disaster he has created in Iran and the Strait of Hormuz.

The prevailing alternative answer, run most clearly by Obama in 2012, is that the wars can be trusted in the hands of the right skilled technocrats, who can ensure a massive standing military follows the laws of war. It's true up to a point, but endless war is inherently a reactionary project.

The challenge, posed again and again and again since 2001, is how to make the compelling case against the permanent war state as presently constructed and expanded. Trump's answer blames following rules, it's the bitter reactionary explanation to Vietnam transposed to every war fought by US since.

11.03.2026 21:58 👍 17 🔁 1 💬 1 📌 0

In 2015 Trump ran against the ongoing wars and in favor of letting soldiers do war crimes; he'd repeatedly tell a fake story about General Pershing soaking bullets in pigs blood to shoot Muslim fighters in the Philippines.

The wars were bad wars, but "more violence ends them quicker" is a lie.

not to sephiroth-post about this but like the conversations I have had with my friends this year are literal life and death because we are getting so crushed to the margins on every aspect of life and it’s obvious it’s going to get worse. Give us some space to mourn our lost futures at least

She's the attorney who brokedown in court not that long ago. Asked the judge to hold her in contempt so she could get some sleep.

She's running as a Democrat, but as a reminder she willingly went to work for Trump and has a history of defending ICE.

She's not the ally you're looking for.
