Polly as a center for the Torque family was an intentional choice. And not to relegate her to just "Mom", but as someone who can wrangle the storm that is that family and provide a center.
I think that's a role that doesn't need to particularly be gendered.

Bittersweet leaving the PNW after ECCC. I miss being up here and much prefer this climate, but my family and friends are in SoCal and I don't want to give up that community and support network.
