Seven years ago today, 15-year-old Ethan Song was fatally shot with an unsecured gun at a friend's house.

His parents, Kristin and Mike Song, experienced pain that no parent should have to endure, yet far too many do because of firearms that are kept unlocked and loaded.

I’m all for thoughts + prayers for many things but they clearly don’t work against school violence. How about instead we focus on healing + policy.

I had lost my phone after getting shot. A girl in the classroom we hid in text my mom for me. People say “I can’t imagine what you went through” but you can and it’s exactly as you think. Terrible.
