They have no useful frame of reference. I don't think this is lying as much as it is absolute cluelessness. Public officials need to spend a month with those living in poverty, without their credit cards or bank accounts to supplement expenses.

I think it's more ignorance than lying. The folks who crap on poor folks have NO clue what it takes to actually stay alive in this country- and they don't care to because it doesn't impact them.
