Exactly right. This is the perfect example of Trump squeezing the toothpaste out of the tube and telling us to put it back in if it's important.
People are clinging to the vestiges of our democracy because their media has largely told them that there was no need to be alarmed. Media balanced the crazy and amoral politics perfectly against appropriate shock and revulsion of what was happening. Are they even dating to say the word fascist now?

Trump has placed a significant portion of the world into varying levels of crisis. His mental illness is spreading his internal mental chaos into all aspects of American life.
I think we all are traumatized and are feeling that stress. Some are trained to mitigate stress because of the nature of their work. Most people are not. The entire country will need help with PTSD when this is over.
