Land acknowledgements have never seized private property, cancelled a mortgage, repossessed a pickup truck, or altered a single title deed anywhere in Canada. They are simply people recognizing the history of the place where they are standing. No one is going anywhere. Canada will survive the brief moment of honesty. Until then, Chiefs across the region continue to reassure the public that land acknowledgements have not, to date, resulted in any land back. No, doctors don't recommend "experimental treatments" like taking horse dewormer for covid, because there's no evidence that it works or that it's safe. Also, every doctor I know here makes far more money than I ever will with my coding degree, so no sympathy for that "problem" from me.

Yes, emergency room waits are too long, and there are too many people without family doctors, but we're not going to end up on the street if we get cancer, so yeah free healthcare is pretty rad.

The doctor shortage is a completely separate issue from medical misogyny. It shouldn't take seven to eight years to diagnose endometriosis, but when doctors are trained to dismiss anything a woman says as being hysterical, and are trained to say that all period pain is normal, that is what happens.

As if wait times are any better in the US. We have a doctor shortage in Canada, but that isn't because of free health care, it's because medical programs admit thirty students a year and medical authorities made the decision about thirty years ago to block immigrating doctors from being doctors here
