-The princess’s face flashed with worry as she saw her tearing up. Sure it wasn’t unexpected for her, yet it still hurt the princess inside to see her in such a state.

Her arms soon wrapped around the nurse’s, pulling her into a gentle hug.-

“It’s ok Mikan, I promise.

They had truly spent all day with each other!

Yet there was one thing that was bothering Sonia.-

“Mikan, you know you don’t have to apologize for anything. This is a special gift I wanted to give you after all.”

“Oh that would be wonderful! I was going to offer you to stay at my place however I don’t think I’ve ever seen your house from the inside Milan.”

-She smiled warmly as she took her hand, leading her out of the store with bags on top of bags in their hands.

“Is there any other place you’d like to go or would you prefer we head to your home? It is getting late however I shall let you decide.

It is your special day after all, even if it isn’t your birthday.”

-Like the other times, Sonia has payed for the entire lot, a couple thousand yen was nothing to the princess, even if she wasn’t the most responsible spender when it came to her friends.

Walking out she peered up at the sky, dusk had settled in as she looked at Mikan.-

There was something magical about it to her that even online or audio books couldn’t satisfy.-

“Oh! I see you’ve found quite a lot of books! Is that all of them Mikan?”

-The princess grew up on books, reading was one of the only things she had was really entertainment before she moved to Japan for hopes peak.

Lately she’s been attempting to instate new media and entertainment sources in Novoselic yet her love of books never left.

“Oh yes! Unfortunately her idol group disbanded a few years ago but one day I do hope to introduce her to you!

She was one of the most popular idols and apart of one of the most popular idol groups in Japan if my memory is correct!”

“Oh right! You probably wouldn’t know much about her but she’s the ultimate musician.

Or perhaps sayaka, the ultimate pop sensation would be more to your tastes…”

“Oh! Then you must be something akin to the ultimate music producer! Or even musical actress!

Oh I simply know you and Ibuki would become close and quick friends!”

“Oh you’re a sly bitch! There is simply not a feasible way you have so many serial killer documentaries and are NOT a serial killer yourself!”

With so many books around, making sure none others caught her eyes was imperative!

It also inadvertently gave the nurse an opportunity to get a closer look at books on her own.-

“Oh perfect! Then we shall read it together AFTER movie night!”

-The princess proclaimed with much enthusiasm… almost too much for someone who liked books.

Regardless she grabbed a hold of two copies, one for each of them. However she continued looking around the store.

Given it was a smaller shop mixed with being in a country foreign to her own kingdom it made sense.

Yet she found one book that caught her eye. One that seems out of place for her but thought I’d be an interesting read for the both of them.-

“Goodbye PunPun? I’ve never heard of it before.”

“Hmm… let me see. I doubt all of my favorites would be here…but I’m sure a few of them are…

Junji Ito…”

-She spoke to herself as she shifted through the books on display, some where ones she had seen but a majority were new to even her.

Especially compared to the fantasy or biography sections but there still were a decent amount to look through.

From old classics to newer, lesser known gems hidden amongst the sea of others.-

“Oh excellent choices! There are many thriller or horror novels I could recommend!

From simple suspense to occult horror! But let us see what the selection here holds for us!”

-She eagerly grabbed her arm and pulled her to the horror section, it wasn’t particularly big.

-Even through everything she would stay by her side. It was the least she could do after everything her player one had done for her and her friends after all…-

Silent tears streaming from her face as she lowered her hand to the ultimate gamers heart.

Looking down at her with a smile through the tears she managed to choke out something.-

“I…I hope you’ll rest easy in the afterlife Chiaki…

You deserve a happy ending after everything”

-There was no dramatic music nor loud sobs from the princess… not this time anyways.

Seeing her friend die not once, not twice, but thrice would be enough to send most people over the edge.

Yet for Sonia… all she could manage were shaky words and unsteady breaths.

-She offered, given people have different tastes in reading material, narrowing down a central favorite was an easy suggestion.-

Given she had herself an entire library of books to herself it wasn’t a surprise reading became something she enjoyed in her downtime.

Horror novels or serial killer biographies being her favorites.-

“Do you have a favorite genre Mikan? We can try to find that section if you’d like.”

-It had certainly come as a surprise that she liked to read books. She didn’t seem like the type to enjoy reading, she had thought she’d prefer more quiet yet focused tasks. Like sewing or building, though the princess didn’t complain.

For she enjoyed reading as well.

As if it was a mini library mixed with a local book store of sorts.-

It was somehow how cute as it was elegant. Sonia managed to mix the two together in a display that could only ever be read through a book or fairy tail movie.

However soon enough they’d find their way to the book store, while not big by any metric it felt cozy.

-The princess’s smile was soft and comforting, using a gentle finger to wipe away at least some of the tears as they walked themselves to the nearby store.-

“Theres no need to stutter Mikan, we’re friends after all. And I’ll always be here for you”

-A small giggles escaped her lips.

“Speaking of, let’s check out that store you had interest in. I’m sure you’ll find something you’d like.”
