I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.
ppl who still commission their favourite artists even in this era where everyone is broke and genAI is being pushed on us at every opportunity—you are appreciated more than words can express!!!

It's happened when I first got into QuirrelHollow (which I gotta draw more of again since I'm STARVING for specific art of them) and now it's happening again but this time for a ship in Splatoon. I'm breaking a popular ship, pray for me
The feeling of want to once again dipping my toes into drawing art of a ship I know barely anyone around me cares about but I care about too deeply to the point that I have an entire story already of how it would go and where it will end up
