Warrior girl sketch I did last night:

I had a lot of equal powered cars racing in the story. I loved in Initial D how Takumi beat more capable cars. But the theme I wanted to deliver was about losing to someone better than you on equal ground. What its like to live in someone’s shadow despite passionate efforts. To feel small.

Sowon Kim (김소원), an antagonist, breaks her left arm while crashing her “famous” 1,000 hp MKIV Supra Turbo. Accident occurs due to structural damage to the frame caused by launching the car. Her specific MKIV is a Targa top model, which has a structural weak point that the slicktop does not.

Period correct details I was proud of in my racing manga attempt.

-Federal Bond Release decal in the driver door jam of Sasha’s 34 GT-R. Implied that car was imported into California by MotoRex 1998-2000.

-Turbo timer runs car after keyed off.

“Sasha’s GT-R is so scary it won’t even turn off.”

The Hen and Rooster tankheads were pinnacles of Neverwar era Alliance engineering. A battery’s worth of artillery and an infantry fighting vehicle capable of deploying four egg tankettes ideal for urban combat. Despite their size both maintained good mobility in the field.
