I started running this year after a hiatus of over 15 years. I’m much slower now. Today I ran the St Patrick’s 5k and signed up for the S&O Queen’s Park Classic 5k in April. It’s a great exercise in humility 🏃♀️

… and even if you banned the drugs they would oppose it. They would just be forced to be more transparent about being concerned about property values.
What a farce. ‘Oppose NW Drug Site’ as if no one in the area at present is a regular drug user. Every neighborhood has drug users. These clowns just dislike poor and/or homeless people who happen to be drug users.
Long letter decrying ‘lack of consultation’ with details of emailing city and community info session
Map of location of proposed tiny home village and QR code linking to ‘Oppose NW Drug Site’ WhatsApp group
I got this bullshit fearmongering flyer in my mailbox. “Oppose NW Drug Site” WhatsApp group 😡
For what it’s worth, I live within the mapped area and I support this project. I will be certain to email the City and attend the community info session to prevent these clowns from drowning out reason
“Where will the kids go to school?” “You can’t build a school there!!!”
Wait, aren’t the BC conservatives completely unstable wack-a-doodles?

My kiddo is really into cassettes and their Walkman. They’ve bought new release cassettes from Bandcamp
meanwhile you know what's ALWAYS fucking entitled to make noise? CARS and PLANES and INDUSTRY! Not people!!!!
I’m really happy to read about the on-site services. This has helped quell my concerns about the fairly remote location and potential hardship for mobility
…but when things went wrong - lines forgotten, mics staticky, etc - the performers were patient and adapted as required. These kids are ambitious, playful, patient, generous and resilient.
Last night I went to see a completely student-led musical at the local HS and I want to report that the kids are better than all right. Not only was the show excellent, and the audience of peers enthusiastically supportive,…
Holy Yikes!
As shit just seems to continue to get worse globally, it is really easy to feel powerless against this scale of disregard of human life and the planet. Check in on your neighbours. Share cookies. Offer childcare and a ride to the doctor. Start a rewilding initiative. Participate in mutual aid.

It’s a weird location. Technically near the skytrain, but not easily reached by foot.
Jug Island, in Belcarra, looking into Indian Arm I think. It’s a beautiful sunny day with blue skies and calm water.
Today started with a beautiful hike; followed by the first lawn mow of the year; then 4 thrift stores in DTNW with my kid. Pretty much a perfect Saturday.
They’re moving them to #NewWest !
For me it’s been mostly happy accident. I’ve usually been rewarded when I’ve taken a risk, quit something that’s not bringing joy, and try something new that interests me. It’s not a destination, but a journey (cliche, I know) because what works today may not fit so well in the future.
Be interested in people. If they’d rather be alone they should choose that.
I’ve never figured out how it works. I’ve been tapping unsuccessfully all this time.
I’m bewildered by people consenting to being irrelevant
It’s old, but ‘Kim’s Convenience’ really hits the spot
Borders are fake, but peaceful borders are better than perpetually warring fiefdoms.
South Park “This is a sad day for Canada and, therefore, the world”.
I like this, it’s like the ethical standards that self-regulated professionals are expected to honour.
I’m in camp a, but I’m also a weirdo so…
I love fried tomatoes, but find they make a real mess of the pan
