I don't want to sell art to AI slop pigs. I don't really want to sell art at all. Art is a process that usually ends with an object that can be sold as a product. The process is the actual art. The economic damage of AI is of course horrible. Our whole economic system is horrible. The worst part is the strain on our already dying natural environment and the fading of the patient and introspective skills and practices that connect humans to their deeper selves and to each other. It is another attack by the elite vampires to make the general population emotionally weak idiots ruled by fear and dependency on technology they control. If I spend a few days working on a creation, considering each line, parsing every piece through my emotions, bouncing it against my beliefs, then I have gained more than whatever I can sell it for. If I have a magical button that gives me that final creation but steals that process from me, then I have gained nothing but more time to watch television or tiktok videos. Art is a process.

Hot take perhaps, but the environmental impact of AI is far worse and more worrying than the plagiarism or copyright issues... and the conversation largely being focused on the latter is honestly frustrating.
videogames got some money and interest from the tech world because of their capability in realizing a tech vision of reality. but as far as them existing as their own art form that does things other art forms do, there is no interest. that's a battle we're all going to have to fight for ourselves.

i played for judging this and liked it. super sad for Santa Ragione, and the general state of game censorship. re: Steam in particular, a landscape where everyone has to depend on a totally unaccountable monopoly to survive is not one that benefits artists in any way.
“[…] This double standard suggests Steam does not treat games as art on par with film, and intervenes with censorship when an artistic vision does not align with what the platform owner considers acceptable art.” Steam’s ban of HORSES is extremely worrying for devs like us. Read, Share, Buy HORSES!
