Many years ago I was in a Mardi Gras krewe that was all skeletons, and I drew ~30 of my fellow members as parodies of Garbage Pail Kids -- mainly as a way to learn how to use my Wacom tablet. Here are some of my favorites! Each person's skull and outfit is based on one of their Mardi Gras costumes.

Weekend at Bernie's type fighting game character who's clearly an inert corpse with two other guys manipulating its limbs to make it do dragon punches and shit. They take turns speaking for it in story cutscenes and everybody acts like it's the corpse talking. No one ever acknowledges the two guys.

I love Lego so much.

Just a year ago we introduced designer Lester Walker to these pages with plans for one of his Living Machines-a convertible couch-bed-table which he called Turniture. When we wanted a multipurpose unit for outdoor use, we asked Walker to design and build Turniture II-and he came up with this delightful piece that serves all the patio functions shown. It's easily made from MDO (medium-density overlay) ply wood, assembled with two-by-two cleats and 30 wingnut/bolt/washer sets. It knocks down for flat winter storage or transport in a station wagon. Close ends of crawl-through tunnel (center photo, below) and it becomes a roofed playpen for a toddler.
