None of those jokes are punching down. Expecting people to not resort to lazy cruelty doesn't ruin comedy.

Keep that in mind as you listen to the promotional campaign for Scary Movie where their strategy seems to be "boast about how we're cool because we're not afraid to offend people."

How many of those jokes were funny because they made fun of minorities or marginalized groups? If the number was low, then "cancel culture" isn't killing comedy.

I’m skipping Pixar's Toy Story 5 because we have no way of knowing who executives erased this time. Did they cut a trans story (like they did in Win Or Lose,) queer representation (like they did in Elio,) or are they breaking new ground in bigotry by cutting screen time for some other group?
