also, i'm assuming the steam distribution agreement has a clause for the game dev to be able to grant valve a usage license, like their UGC agreement has. if this goes through, it would become hell to publish on steam

it seems really vague on what use they are referring to. it sounds like they want licensing fees from valve distributing the games, but something more likely would be the use in store page marketing
