And now you must believe us…! We’ve gone and won the league!
And now you must believe us…! We’ve gone and won the league!
Bursting with pride for our @tssrovers.bsky.social women who won the Metro Women’s Soccer League last night. It’s our 15th year playing in that league and our first league win!
Come see these women play in the BC Premier League starting April 2.
It was not to be today. Rovers women have one more match to secure a point and win the league ahead of playoffs in a couple of weeks.
lol . No kidding
Speaking of the rebranding of League 1 Canada, this is the time of year when I'm trying to get folks interested in our upcoming TSS Rovers season and my conversations go like this:
C: "Hey you should come and watch TSS Rovers with us this year"
X: "Who's that?"
C:"Our BC Premier League team..."
Some very interesting standards announced from Canada Soccer for grassroots programming. Notably :
- U10/11 7v7, U12/13 9v9
- restarts from sideline for U10/11 are dribble in/kick ins
- fluid roster movement, no hard selections

It would be
If I am correct all players reg direct with Can Soccer. Money flows down from there rather than up through multiple layers as it has since the beginning of time in this country
The proposed National Reg System seems to be flying under the radar. Game changer
National Registration System proposed in this new Can Soccer/CSME (formerly CSB) agreement. It’s a game changer if it is what I think it is
You are 60 now! Busy forgetting things 😂
There once was this 9 year old kid….
So happy for Kian Proctor. 3 seasons as a senior Rover and all the Academy and Jr Rover club work and now a full professional. With his debut for VFC vs Cruz Azul. Just the beginning is my guess
Known this guy for 43 years. He’s edged me in the race to 60 by a few months. Happy Birthday @gregoryoung.bsky.social
This guy is a @tssrovers.bsky.social Rover legend. Six goals in 42 matches between 2023-25. A huge presence whether on the backline at full back or up front where he scores for fun. And a sweet guy to boot. Quietly does the business and now he’s a pro.

Crazy to think Vancouver FC's season gets underway two weeks tomorrow!
Still a few additions to be announced for their season roster but congratulations to @tssrovers.bsky.social and SFU standout Kian Procter. The LB/LW has deservedly signed his first pro deal with the Eagles.
Great addition.
TSS Rovers (in red) and Vancouver United (in navy blue) at Ken Woods Field at UBC with fog in the background on Saturday afternoon.
TSS Rovers Premier (in red) and Fusion FC Premier (in black) at Richmond High School amid a dense fog on Sunday evening.
Mixed results for our @tssrovers.bsky.social teams. On the men's side, our U-21 team lost 6️⃣-3️⃣ away to VUFC U-21 at UBC on Saturday. On the women's side, the Premiers won 4️⃣-1️⃣ away to Fusion FC in the dense fog at Richmond High tonight.
I have bootleg from the Whiskey that was recorded a few days before this album came out. Plant basically asking people to buy the album and hoping they will like.
Helped by the fact that up to sometime in the early 70s the Habs got the top pick from the Quebec Jr league regardless of where they finished in the standings.
And the fan base could get behind “homegrown” players. Gee, I wonder what sport this is happening in already?😂
Same with Kindel…
Just imagine- Bedard and Celebrini would have been “jr Canucks” coming up through their dev pathway. And on their roster right now.
Maybe they should get relegated 😎
This is symptomatic of the societal trend, abetted by social media, to value gratification over actual achievement. The whole North American professional sport model is corporate welfare and asset protection dressed up as “intensely competitive.”
Local sportscasters already making reference to the draft lottery for Canucks and their “potential” in it for 2026. It’s bullshit. Charging $100s for tickets but gently being encouraged to maybe not climb the standings too much. It slips towards questions of match fixing etc.
Afshin Ghotbi, former Vancouver FC head coach, is suing club owners Six-Five Sports & Entertainment for allegedly failing to repay a $500,000 loan plus interest. #CanPL
What the…
Been to Arrowsmith! Great pizza too
Thanks for all you do Mike. No one in this region dedicates themselves to covering this game like you do. Bravo 👏
21 months and my second hip replacement ago I stepped back onto the field and took charge of our 2012 Girls. They have reminded me about why I committed full time to this game over 30 years ago. It has been and continues to be an absolute pleasure.
What’s the saying? A’s hire A’s- B’s hire C’s
