π° As promised, I am, again, updating the public about all work continuing at the Federal Election Commission while we lack a quorum. As of December 2025, there were 190 pending enforcement matters. Now, there are 195. I will continue to share updates in the spirit of our mission to be transparent.

The road to an election leads to the ballot box. It was a treat to view "Ballot Boxes of the Americas" exhibit at OAS. Here are a few of the beautiful and useful ballot boxes that were on display!
Screenshot of an X post from Albert R. Ramdin - OAS Secretary General that includes a brief caption and a picture of Ramdin, Commissioner Broussard, and Gerardo Deicaza talking in Ramdin's office.
I was honored to speak with OAS Secretary General Ramdin about OAS and the FEC's critical work to strengthen democracy.
It was my pleasure to discuss federal campaign finance, and political spending in Georgia, with 11Alive NBC Atlanta last month. You can catch my televised segment here!
Thanks to #EarlyReturns for having me to discuss important topics like how the Federal Election Commission is an "example of government efficiency" with Jan Baran and @daralindenbaum.bsky.social
Chair Shana M. Broussard lists five critical issues that have been submitted as legislative recommendations by unanimous agreement of the FEC in previous years. Namely, (1) Establish a threshold for reporting conduit contributions to enable greater transparency; (2) Extend the foreign national contribution prohibition to include (i) contributions in state and local elections and ballot initiatives and (ii) knowingly helping or assisting a foreign national in violation the prohibition; (3) Protect contributor address information from public disclosure, specifically a contributorβs street name and number, in light of security threats; (4) Increase contribution limitations, thresholds and exemptions, which have not been indexed for inflation since 2002; and (5) Expand the fraudulent misrepresentation prohibition to cover misrepresentation conducted by all persons and organizations, not just federal candidates and their agents.
While the Federal Election Commission is unable to submit recommendations to Congress for 2025 due to a lack of quorum, I want to keep these critical issues on everyoneβs radar:
π° I continue to be committed to updating the public about all work continuing at the Federal Election Commission while we lack a quorum. As of August 2025, there were 154 pending enforcement matters. Now, there are 190. I will continue to share updates in the spirit of our mission to be transparent.

It's been a fun and busy time meeting with students from Ohio University E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and IIMUN at the FEC to discuss federal campaign finance!
π° I am committed to updating the public about all work continuing at the Federal Election Commission while we lack a quorum. When I became Chair on July 1, there were 161 pending enforcement matters. Now, there are 154. I will continue to share updates in the spirit of our mission to be transparent.
π I am thrilled to celebrate the FEC's 50th anniversary with the launch of our updated timeline webpage. As Chair, I continue to strive to serve the American public and I want to recognize my fellow Commissioners and the Commissionβs current and former staff for their service.

Black and white clip of newspaper headline about President Johnson signing the Voting Rights Act of 1965 with a picture of the President and many others in the Capitol rotunda.
Today, we celebrate 60 years since the Voting Rights Act was signed into law and our democracy's commitment to protect the right to vote.
Creme colored opened box on a table. The left side of the box has a black matted political cartoon of the first "gerrymandered" election district. The right side of the box has four black square printing blocks that compose the printed cartoon on the left.
My team and I had a great time viewing the printing blocks used to press the original "Gerrymander" map cartoon at the Library of Congress - the best field trip for campaign finance nerds!
Thank you to Campaigns & Elections for the opportunity to speak about the FEC and its critical mission.
