Thank you!!
Thank you!!
My leg kept twitching occasionally due to reflexes during the hand-tapping, which is why we switched to machine, which ironically hurt more. I love it beside the eyes, which will be fixed soon enough!
I have a bunch of pics to post, but for now here’s my half hand-tapped, half machine Bornean/Iban style gibbon tattoo I got. I’m getting the area around the eyes touched up and darkened to even them out and better match them to the other features.
Hellooooo! I’m back from Malaysia, and my next trip will be one-way! We finally got our SMM2H (long-term visa) stamped into our passports!
Get me the paperwork and I’ll sign it.
Thank you!!
Thank you!!
Two of the newest SMM2H visa passholders! That’s the long term visa for Sarawak, Malaysia we’ve been working to get since 2019, but were thwarted by rule changes and age requirements. Hopefully moving by the end of the year!!
Ugh. What a pain.
How were you booted, btw?
I’ll be sure to post bat, colugo, and binturong content here too!!
I have an FB page for those of you who want to follow my volunteer/vacation trip to Borneo. I’ll try to post some stuff here, but most of it will be over there: www.facebook.com/share/16FKhk...
Thanks!!
Our visa got approved! We plan on leaving sometime in the fall!
It is now the official position of the United States government that slavery and Nazis weren't so bad, and that the real problem is people who complain about these things.
Oh.
I can’t help with a fossa, but I can get you a binturong for the right price, including bail money for wildlife trafficking.
Our bias towards charismatic species leaves 'ugly' animals behind in conservation efforts.
But should looks determine which species we protect?🐡

Fezzik ringtail with his new punk mohawk hairdo. Olive seems smitten.
They’re flying lemurs! But they aren’t lemurs and don’t fly. They also have binturongs there, which are called bearcats but are neither bears nor cats. Animal naming people suck.
This will be my last round-trip visit to Borneo. Still can’t believe this dream is coming true. I’ll post a copious amount of photos while I’m there so show off my soon-to-be new home.
All that’s left is kitten milk replacement for baby colugos and probiotics for one of their orangutans. If you don’t want to purchase through Amazon , message me and I’ll send you my address.
The news is all terrible and depressing BUT good things are happening on a smaller scale too! I leave for my volunteer trip to Matang Wildlife Center in Borneo on Thursday, and I have gotten almost everything on my wishlist to bring to their vet clinic!
I have another wishlist for Matang Wildlife Center, where I’m going to volunteer again next month. This one is for medical supplies, and as always, if you don’t want to buy from Amazon, I can get you my address to send it directly. Thanks so much!!
Fake, just like jerboas.

A giant snapping turtle moves across a field, with a lump of dirt on her back that has green grass growing on it. It's comically oversized, flat on top. Behind the turtle is what looks like a bit of forest with dry lake in the foreground, and some shore grasses in between. CREDIT: Timothy C. Roth, Task Force Turtle
Timothy C. Roth, a member of Maryland's 'Task Force Turtle' (TFT) snapped this photo of a female common snapping turtle (Chelydra serpentina) emerging from brumation in a dry lake mudhole with 18 lbs of dirt & grass on her back.
TFT tag these animals with radio transmitters to track movements.
You have to keep moving your arm up and down and around right after the shot. The day after each I felt terrible. Still better than shingles though.
How do you feel? Those knocked me on my ass.
