The value of fieldwork and the personal experience should never be undervalued. For many of our PGR students this is their first venture into an active glacial environment and whether it is the biodiversity: we all experience it in person

An outstanding feature of our Science Teaching Hub was demonstrated today- 3 different classes making use of the same lab space through innovative technologies and it worked out perfectly. Seems all the students did the correct classes

It’s almost 30 yrs since I first brought MSc students to Cromarty to see work that Paul Thompson leads; then there was the CLSM College Graduate retreats and for the past few years it’s been QUADRAT-DTP: at the heart of these visits lies the tremendous work done by the school researchers based here

It’s a delight to work with colleagues in delivering a new and novel practical class in our purpose built (£40 m) science teaching hub and to see such an engaging and positive response from the class- let’s keep giving STEM students what they deserve
