A WHOLE GENERATION of new storytellers under 18 use that for editing in animation, film, & socials. i work with underprivileged kids to make shorts: they didn’t know industry standard programs — cause they cost a TON both in hardware & software — they all used CapCut.

Because success isn't the big job in the end, but genuinely enjoying your work. My big portfolio pieces from my professional jobs rarely give me the same joy looking back as, say, a sketch from the bus.

- Made a ton of new artist friends! Many of which I care about very dearly
- Conquered art block by drawing fanart/fan animatics for one of my favorite shows. It’s been keeping me happy ever since

They envy that we’ve honed a skill they believe is only a god-given talent, and so try to find any little thing to drag us down to their level. They’re insecure. They can’t believe people so talented exist

It really can't be stated enough how the AI craze is rooted deeply in utter vitriolic disrespect for the working class. Like I've seen multiple cases of this tech being marketed directly on sticking it to us filthy poors who want things like "benefits" and "fair pay for our labor"

This is true. There were times I’d have a comic or storyboard with looser drawing and a person would ask why it’s not “done.” They don’t look a second longer to understand the art’s substance, in one glance all they care about is why it’s not fully rendered. This habit seems to be leaking into AI

I gotta confess, for years now I've had this gnawing feeling that for a lot of consumers (and even more publishers), all they look for in art is how "polished" it is, and it turns out it might specifically be only the really superficial markers of polish?
