Lecun thinks LLMs are not capable of understanding the world and can't approach agi. I think gyges disagrees with him, but Lecun is also a very respected guy, (he basically invented CNNs), who just got like a bajillion dollars to work on AI that has world models so everyone is having fun, really.

They might want more funding for pay raises, expansion (in that it gives more room for promotions and thus pay raises), and benefits (essentially tax free pay raises), but basically no one is begging for more funding for wars of adventure unless they are doing so *as* Republicans.
