🥾Backpackers: a kind reminder that today is the opening day for the North Cascades backcountry permit lottery. 🏔️

Google Maps on a flight over southeast Alaska had me entertained for the entire flight! Ghost towns, broke bridges, wrinkled glaciers, small fishing villages, long roads that go nowhere… probably the most underrated aerial flight in the United States!

Watching working dogs come alive in their element ❤️‍🔥! I also learned that there are multiple checkpoints throughout the race to make sure the dogs stay healthy.

Of course I had to be there to see the Alaskan huskies kick off the Iditarod at the opening races! 🐕🐾❄️

It’s true tho!…. When it’s that cold… it just feels cold no matter how frigid it gets. It really depends on how strong the wind is that day.

I’ve never experienced anything colder than 9° F…. so experiencing -15° F in Anchorage was a record low for me! 🥶 I didn’t get a chance to toss a pot of boiling water in the air though! Alaska is soooo beautiful!
