GBC Dragon Quest II- Finding the simpler gameplay loop and graphics more compelling.
The remakes donβt really have that same loop of getting to a new town, grinding levels and gold until you can afford the newest equipment to survive a dungeon, moving into the next area and repeating.
Making the Princess of Cannock playable in the remake was a great idea. First sheβs someone that already did exist, granted just another NPC to speak to. And being the princess, sheβs also a descendant of Erdrick, so it totally makes sense story wise.
lol sheβs a trash talker
GBC version is really charming and easy to play. I guess all the elaborate stuff in the first remake had me craving simpler times.
DQ I and II in the HD remakes are much more strongly bridged together. There's a lot of talk about future generations, and the post credits scene is really a To Be Continued moment.
I'm just undecided on how to proceed. Part of me wants to play DQII on the GBC first and then go back to compare.
Iβm hoping the second game will work better in that respect since you have a party of four.
Three or more enemies at a time, some of them getting multiple hits per turn, and others absolutely massive critical hits, you could go from full health to zero in less than two turns. They really didnβt balance this properly for just one character.
I bumped the difficulty down to get through the Dragonlordβs castle. This game was always hard, but that was a pile on like Iβve never seen.
Iβve always been a massive fan of the Dragonlord character and it made me happy to know we brought him or his soul some form of peace as well.
Felt deeply unsatisfied with the final dungeon in the remake though, aside from that.
I decided to get a little practice and put Mint on my old laptop, since itβs stuck on Win 10. It was super easy, but Iβm not really sure what to do with the extra laptop.
Villain plan of the week to beat Sailor Moon.
Send a love letter to I guess young every girl in Tokyo pretending to be Tuxedo Mask.
Hope the real Sailor Moon reads it, believes it, and meets up, with none of the other girls doing so.
???
Profit.
(Actually get foiled by the real Tuxedo Mask)
Sometimes I really miss the days of AA batteries. With lithium ion devices itβs more important to remember to use them every so often, and the consequences of not doing that can be annoying(battery not calibrated) to damaging (unable to charge at all).
Not to mention the issue of replacement.
The Pocket can also play the NES versions and the fan translated SNES port of I and II, but the GBC version definitely feels the best for that form factor and screen size.
Been playing βDragon Warrior I & IIβ for GBC on the Analogue Pocket, which I havenβt used in a bit. Itβs better than I remember from when I played it back in the day. Dracolord still drives me crazy though. I donβt know if thatβs the literal translation but I hate it.
I do prefer 1 vs 1 battles.
The black is really dark
Really cool Sailor Moon box set
Been carrying her around since he found her, outside of cutscenes at least, fun nod to the original
When you take your girlfriend on a date to the Dragonlordβs castle
The game strongly hints that you get a better conclusion if you bring Gwaelyn to fight the Dragonlord. I brought her back to the castle just to see the scene, and she asks you to promise to bring her when you face him, but you tell her to stay behind.
I don't have much nostalgia for DQII as I first played it much later, but I hear good things about the remaster.
For Dragon Quest 1 HD, I have a few criticisms, but all in all, it's been a wonderful experience that breathes so much new life into the characters and world I grew up with.
Stop right there criminal scum
When you order four bananas on DoorDash
Moves derp slider higher
Iβm days behind on here, but Iβm kinda using it as a backup of sorts lol
This is the brand I got.
The earpads on my favorite Sony noise cancelling headphones were disintegrating and I almost fell into the trap of just getting the newest model headphones, but I researched a good replacement pad (OEM no longer available) and got them on. Working, feeling and sounding great.
Finished the lancer hunting log recently, just for the sake of doing it.
Also: βHear me, my monster, and take control of this manβs hatβ was a thing that happened.
