A passenger train wagon in flames after being struck by a Russian/Iranian Shahed attack drone early on March 4 in Mykolaiv in southern Ukraine. Such attacks on civilian transport are becoming more frequent, strongly indicating deliberate targeting by the Russians - terrorism.

Notably, this week saw only a single-digit death toll compared to higher death tolls in past several weeks. However, it is not all good news -- the number of wounded jumped quite remarkably.
The "human safari" problem in Kherson is unfortunately only growing worse - and we are seeing similar patterns of rapidly rising civilian deaths from small drone attacks in other global conflicts.

48-year-old Maryana Belokon died🙏💔 on March 2, 2025 near Beryslav, Kherson region, from a Russian drone strike.
The woman and her husband Oleksandr were driving to a neighboring village to buy bread.
In Antonivka a defenceless 74 year old was picked out by some sick b*stard playing drone safari. She died in hospital.
The city of Kherson itself is also being hit with increasing regularity, especially close to the river.
Three people were injured in the latest attack.

New video footage shows a US Tomahawk missile hitting an IRGC facility in Minab, Iran, on Feb 28, showing for the first time that the US struck the area. The footage also shows smoke already rising from the vicinity of the girls’ school, where 175 people were reportedly killed, including children.

Ukrainian SkyFall's Shrike 10 Fiber drone scored 99.3 out of 100 to win the Pentagon's Drone Dominance program first phase. The $1.1B program plans to buy 30,000 drones worth $150M. Another Ukrainian drone, Ukrainian Defence Drones, placed sixth.
While lawmakers were largely complimentary of the Drone Dominance program, Sens. Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., and Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., criticized the Pentagon for not more directly engaging with Ukrainian drone makers. "You're talking about six months as being expedited scheduling," said Shaheen, who recently visited Ukrainian drone producers in Odesa, Ukraine. "What they were talking about in Ukraine was iterating those drones every two weeks because of warfare. I don't know how we think we're going to compete if we're talking about an every six month schedule, and we're looking at our adversaries who are iterating on a weekly basis."
Jeanne Shaheen is right about this: you need to be working at a rate of two week refresh/iteration cycles to be competitive in modern drone warfare (which the Ukrainians have mastered), not a six month one.
What she doesn’t mention: you’ll also need cheap Chinese parts to realistically do this.
One wonders how the Pentagon is going to square the circle of “only wanting to spend $2K each on an essentially disposable drone platform” and “Blue UAS compliance without Chinese parts.”

The victims suffered mine-explosive injuries, shrapnel wounds, cuts, head injuries, and fractures, according to the report. Shortly afterwards, Russia dropped four FAB-250 bombs with a UMPK module on a residential district. Six local residents aged 44 to 69 were injured. A man was killed. The enemy also launched another attack, as a result of which a man and a woman were killed, and three more civilians suffered mine-explosive injuries, multiple shrapnel wounds, and fractures. In the city, multi-apartment and private residential buildings, cars, a bank branch, a pharmacy, and shops were damaged.

Community Peacemaker Teams, a human rights group based in Iraqi Kurdistan, says that hundreds of civilians have been killed by drone and air strikes in and around the Forbidden Zone. According to a 2020 Kurdistan parliamentary report, thousands have been forced off their land and whole villages have been emptied out by the conflict.
The sub-district capital of Kani Masi, which is only 4km (2.5 miles) from the Iraqi-Turkish border and parts of which are within the Forbidden Zone, may offer a glimpse into Sergele's future. Once famous for its apple production, few residents remain here now. Farmer Salam Saeed, whose land is in the shadow of a large Turkish base, hasn't been able to cultivate his vineyard for the past three years. 'The moment you get here, you will have a drone hover over you," he tells the BBC. "They will shoot you if you stay."
