Thank you, you too. We have about 3 acres with a huge barn and out building. My garden provides for us and I donate extras to my neighbors and the local food bank. We have our own well, so as long as there aren't any data centers near by to suck the aquafer dry, we will be good there.
I have a vacuum sealer for jars, as well, however I use it for dry goods only. Low acid foods (veggies) or anything with meat must be pressure canned, because of botulism. Those things must reach 240° for a set period of time to kill botulism. Just be careful.
I have been wondering about that for a while now. Trump paying her back for exposing things he doesn't want out there.
We have a 55 gallon(food quality) plastic drum of water for toilets and dishes and 2 cases of drinking water. We have an RV portapotty in the basement. If all else fails, we have a 3 hole outhouse in the backyard.(our house is 117 yo). We are all set. Tomorrow night more storms are headed our way.
Farm girl here. I know what you are saying. I also have a couple of 2 gallon jugs of dry beans also for soup. I have 3 pressure canners and a waterbath canner. In the fall I am really busy. When times get rough, we eat well.
