Blocked storm drains =
more ice
more flooding
more road damage
Snow doesnβt disappear when a lane is βclosed.β
It piles, melts, refreezes and finds the lowest point.
That lowest point is usually the road.
Infrastructure neglect costs more later.

Happy Canada Day.
Oh sounds interesting, where was it from?
βAs a teen, I was one of βthose peopleβ trying to survive on social services who had the audacity to find community downtown, and some on Guelph City Council now would have considered me a threat to business.β

Why are some people freaking out?? You choose to opt out of a medal, not you don't get a medal! Why is this confusing, it is a personal choice No?
I got to meet and hear him speak back in 2018/9. What a great person and amazing career representing Canada. #AdaptiveAthlete #CanadianPride

When a disabled person asks for an accommodation, the response shouldn't be:
You'll need to
- Meet with us for multiple unnecessary discussions.
- Run an advocacy campaign.
- Join a committee.
- Promote it for us and ensure it's popular.
Quit putting unpaid labour on us. Just do the thing.
Five major airlines are suing to overturn a rule from then-Transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg that actually holds airlines accountable for damaging disabled people's wheelchairs. New from me at @motherjones.com. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
Our first Gimli was master of getting out of his crate, to a point we just stopped putting him in it lol
I started wheelchair racing in my 40s, so nothing is "too late". Never fear of potentially hurting yourself. Getting hurt for a short or long period of time isn't being broken. You adapt and still push forward with enjoying life. Know this, I'm not broken, the built environment is broken π

Today I was proud to announce the Ontario Greens 2025 platform. Our Plan for Fairness puts people before politics.
Our plan will build 2 million homes that people can afford in the communities they love without paving over prime farmland and the places we love.

Because I sure do!
Seeing a lot of people on other sites say this is the first time they've seen so many Canadians on the same page since the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, and sharing the absolute banger that was its theme song. Here's the final montage from those 2 weeks. Chills, still.
