Barger is a lovely lovely man.

I'm starting to believe.
The Toronto Blue Jays have sole possession of 1st place in the American League East.
Statement series, a four-game sweep of the Yankees.
They’re 49-38.
Congrats and well deserved!
Congrats and well deserved. I’m about halfway though and just started the Dave Steib chapter. It’s really great so far. The pandemic chapters and Ohtani chapter are the stand outs so far but I’ve enjoyed them all.
Look what arrived today from Amazon! @keeganmatheson.bsky.social I can’t wait to read it.
@annetastic.bsky.social A Jays sweep for your birthday. Happy Birthday!
That made me smirk too. Home runs would be great but small ball with smart baserunning is fine too.
Crickets…
A question I would like to understand from this front office and Mark Shapiro. They seem to value contact and getting on base from their hitters. Vladdy provides that along with elite power. Why was that not enough to get the signing across the line?
You called this as the likely outcome early on, but I was hopeful that they would sign Vladdy. Now that you were proven correct, please give Shapiro an earful on behalf of the fanbase.
What a travesty. I’m super disappointed in the Jays FO.
This is going to be mentioned for years as one of the biggest screw ups ever for the Jays front office. There’s no excuse for this.
Pre-ordered! It looks great. Is there going to be an audiobook version?
Just saw your repost with the same info. Cheers.
The speculation I’ve heard about Scherzer is that they would need to remove someone from the 40 man to make room but if they wait until Spring training start they don’t have to do that as they can put Manoah on the 60 day dl. Or maybe they’re working on a trade to make room?
Good to see you over here. I enjoyed your newsletter this morning. Those are all very good questions.
Great article. I really like this signing. Even if the worst case scenarios happen, it’s at least going to be fun watching him pitch in a Jays uniform.
