It was always inevitable that the two dictates "We need to teach our students the Greek classics" and "We need to avoid teaching anything controversial about gender and race" were going to come into conflict with one another.

Words by Native Trans Women and Transfems
Native trans women are current writers and thinkers, not just historical fodder for gender theory
I have finally finished my list of 12 essays by Indigenous trans women in North America (plus some extra audio/video links). Please please please spend some time getting to know their work. Too often people use Indigenous trans women as a figure to weaponize rather than sit and think with them.

She wasn’t on my dissertation committee but I did take several seminars with her (on Gnosticism and a multi year seminar on NRMs).
Speaking candidly, I found her writing feedback often very tough, but looking back I can appreciate the push. I think her main students could probably tell you more.

She grounds discussion of ancient texts with references to movies like The Matrix, Pleasantville, The Truman Show & Dark City.
The other thing that stood out to me is how she pushed back against scholars like Karen King and Michael Allen Williams who try to disaggregate Gnosticism as a category.

Hard to overstate how transformative Jane Goodall was as a scientist.
She took the best of the scientific method--empirical observation--and used it to push back on existing scientific orthodoxies.

Minnesota shooting suspect had a list of dozens of potential Democratic targets, prosecutors say
All of the politicians named in his writing were Democrats, including more than 45 state and federal officials in Minnesota, U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson said.
I call on media to REFUSE the framing pushed by right wing chaos agents like Cernovitch & Rufo on this act of what appears to be political violence. The Democratic former Speaker of the Minnesota House was assasinated along with/her husband. The killers was hunting Dems. www.pbs.org/newshour/pol...

“Political violence” doesn’t just mean vigilantes shooting political candidates or activists (which, to be clear, I strongly oppose). ICE disappearing people is also political violence. Police shootings are also political violence. Bombings are political violence.

Some of you are about to find out what your fantasies of violent revolution are going to lead to.
This will lead to nothing but darkness, but too many people confuse hurting an enemy with actually achieving a goal and solving a problem. It's an issue that plagues all identities and communities.
