Really gotta reiterate how absolute my hostility is to anyone who even remotely looks like they're advocating for a return to a golden age of supposedly leisurely subsistence as an antidote to the real but lesser problems of capitalism and industry.

Earlier I implied that I escorted yo' momma through the Strait of Hormuz. I apologize for the misinformation. Yo' momma's too fat for such a narrow passageway and whatnot.
He never did. He never will. The next little bit is gonna suck but weβre gonna beat his ass and come back better than ever.
Computer, end program and erase.
The modal outcome of All This is probably βIranβs capacity to blockade the strait is obliterated. Things take a while to recover and gas is more expensive than weβd like while they do, but ultimately the strait is opened and we get back to where we were.β
Exactly! I love nature. Sometimes on days when Iβm off and we both have time, I go on hikes with my mom. But likeβ¦ I was a preemie. I have health problems that derive from that. I literally owe my life to modern technology and if these people had their way Iβd have died shortly after being born.
How the fuck does my leisure time βcome at the expense of Palestinian children?β π€¨
Subsistence farming vs modern labor discourse is stupid (modern labor wins, hands down) but itβs a marked improvement over oilpocalypse discourse.
I think that given the backbreaking labor needed to pick many fruits by hand, opposing automation of the process as an owner of farmland is sort of akin to admitting your farm is a vehicle for your own depraved desire to break and shatter human flesh and bones by your will.
And the longer this goes on, the more likely it is the developed world breaks out the pliers.
Wait I thought you were Bill Kristol. Or Bill Kristol was you? The plot thickensβ¦ π§
I suppose they should also spin straw into gold and steal fire from the gods while theyβre at it?
It helps me sleep a bit easier every night knowing that no matter how hard these guys cry and stamp their feet, America will never be the white nationalist state they lust for.
Star Wars posting is always the better decision.

If you treat us like human beings and show people the actual actions being taken against us and how cruel and unnecessary they are, how we are just trying to live our damn life, people will listen. And if they choose not to, then they are not a Median Voter. They're a conservative who is embarrassed
You talk to a median voter about trans issues by pointing out the cruelty. Saying things like "an entire state invalidated their driver's licenses overnight and made it illegal for them to use them until they get a replacement" or "they cannot use a public toilet safely in over half the nation"
Yeeep.
You can use a hammer to build a house or to bash someoneβs head in. But the hammer itself is not evil if someone uses it for that latter purpose.
A little bit. I donβt know enough about physics to definitively say they donβt exist, and a world where they do exist would be more interesting. So yeah, I believe a little.
Yeah Docter did this because he wanted to. Not because he was afraid of the Trump administration.
And I swear to you the Venn diagram of people who don't want gay characters in kids' shows and people who demand that antiblack cartoons from the past remain uncensored and free of warning labels is a single circle.
I hate that entire groups are being prevented from existing in mainstream art because of roughly 200 shrill lunatics who can't be normal about anything.
That's Noem, Lewandowski, and Bovino out.
Wannabe fascists, perhaps, but you are not living in a fascist country. Public pressure, embarassment, legislative opposition - all of them helped to turf these folks. That's what I mean by "the levers of democracy still work and you should use them."
Israel waging aggressive war against Palestine: bad
America waging aggressive war against Iran: bad
Russia waging aggressive war against Ukraine: bad
It's not at all hard to maintain a consistent leftist position that waging aggressive war is evil.
i don't care about any arguments against this. right now the sum total of my political advocacy is: crush the Republicans and make them pay. i don't care what comes after because until we do that nothing better is possible.
This is literally how we got the Civil Rights and Great Society bills in the 60s: at one point under LBJ, Democrats held 68 seats in the Senate and 295 in the House.
With those sorts of numbers the Goldens or Cuellars or Manchins or Sinemas of the world would be powerless. Elect more Democrats!
Lmao I meant that first exclamation point to be a question mark. This website needs an edit button.
An America where corporations feel compelled to cater to minority populations is *infinitely* preferable to one where they do not. I do not understand why people donβt grasp this. Is it sincere! Sometimes, sometimes not! I donβt care! It means the winds are shifting in a good direction for us.
βMan, I wish weβd get a Dem administration with a Dem supermajority!β
