WTF Grammarly. This is a new, despicable low in a world where "AI" constantly disgusts... Loathsome.
NONE OF THESE AUTHORS GAVE THEIR PERMISSION
I hope Stephen King, NDT, and the estates of the dead authors they're using/exploiting sue the shit out of them

Been coming to this part of Sweden regularly for many years now and discovered this for the first time today. Utterly peaceful

I recall his performance at the Beaulie Folk Festival (that dates me). The poured all day, we got drenched, but what memorable event
Dressing up for world book day is bullshit, even leaving the parental finance stuff aside. It's one of very few 'event' days in school calenders set aside for a solo, quiet, activity – and then it's turned into dress-up. Spectacularly misses the point. Schools should drop it from a great height.
A grassroots boycott, QuitGPT, has been spreading across the US & beyond asking people to cancel their ChatGPT subscriptions. Over a million people have answered the call. It’s time for Europeans to join.

Reading a report about a symposium on C.G. Jung last weekend, I was intrigued to learn of the Jung family rumour suggesting that his grandfather was the illegitimate son of Goethe.

“The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don’t know each other, but we talk and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same.” — Marjane Satrapi, Iranian Graphic
We're told to fear each other while the powerful profit from division.

A wise decision. I read Crime and Punishment lent to me by a nurse when I was hospitalised in Austria. Schwester Esther was a wonderful nurse, but this particular kindness did nothing for my recovery.

Not familiar with that one. Positano came to mind because I once read that The Talented Mr R was inspired by a lone figure Highsmith saw on the beach from the balcony of her hotel in Positano. It has struck me ever since as the perfect setting to read her Ripley novels.
What a beautiful image. It would have to be Patricia Highsmith of course. An Italian beach? Positano for example?
