It’s her personality and has nothing to do with skating its self. People wouldn’t care if it was Isabeau, Bradie, or Sarah. Amber would’ve getting as much attention as she is now. It’s difficult to make 2 of the most recent people stars when they’re as exciting as a slice of white bread.

No. High level competitive coaches are limited but choose who to work with and there are far more coaches who will gladly work with those not on the competitive track. The US figure skating association only pay part of international skaters expenses. Everyone pays their own way here.
Canada’s is similar. The UK requires 1 triple.
By doing it. If you have all triples with their combos, and a 2A, you will make it to sectionals and maybe nationals but you’re probably not focusing so much on the resume at that point. That‘s what sets you apart from someone who was an average skater that just passed the tests.
They still have go through multiple qualifying rounds to get to nationals where they then get international assignments.
I do think that Senior should be raised to all triples+2A. They have 8 levels to work within and it very well might change.
Idk that you can call going in to the Olympics with both American men and women being strong gold medal favorites along with 1 of 2 women’s 3A and the only 4A subpar. I think it’s really just for the benefit of the kids who want the double/triple “gold medalist“ for their college application.

Ilia was undefeated for over 2 years, hasn’t been off the podium in 4 years, and is the only person alive to ever do what he is capable of. That’s hardly hubris.

The general public should get a chance to see the last half of Amber’s program the way it was meant to be seen. The energy and exuberance are next level, it makes you want to smile. Amber is SO GOOD when she’s on!
