*Whew* 😊
*Whew* 😊
What?! No! I don't get to work on your next book?! Tell me the one you gave the third pub isn't so good. 😭
you’re fired. wait you’re rehired. email us a list of things you’ve done today wait forget it you’re fired again. come back your job was important. you’re fired. or hired. come in to the office. wait the office has no computers go home. we are the department of government efficiency.
I'm finding it hard to do anything today without the doom clock screaming in my brain. I just can't believe folks I love and thought I knew to be good people asked for this.
Oh my gosh, you are too kind! It helps with a manuscript like yours to work on when I feel like I'm on the same wavelength. Happy to have been a part of your book!
Such a fun read!
I'm happy to say that my pre-order for Soul Guardian is finally live!
If you like cozy fantasy, Good Omens (Pratchett, not Gaiman), and a bit of romance, check it out!
Soul Guardian is about a little girl that summons a demon to open a jar of tomato sauce.

I've been sick with bronchitis since September 20. All of my manuscripts are late, and all of my clients are generally being kind, but some are annoyed. I've been working at like 25% capacity for over a month, and even when I ask for extensions I'm not being realistic about what I can accomplish.
I quite like hyphenating re-form (form again) versus reform.
Just looked up the word "opaquest" because my brain read it as "Opa Quest." 😂😂😂😂 #amediting
Also, if you don't believe me, here is a blog post that Benjamin Dreyer says you should read. sesquiotic.com/2016/10/14/t...
Dear editors, the Royal Order of Adjectives is not a rule, nor does it determine whether adjectives are coordinate versus cumulative. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
I like this...depending on how integrated the book's universe is.
Okay, but if you're going to say you can't use "xeno" either, then you can't use "aliens." This is a very slippery slope.
Ohh, I see. Yeah, no, you can't just use anthropology.
😂
This is a copyedit? Sir, stet. 🥰
Yeah, but it's canceled out by xeno. Ooh. Do xenoa̶n̶t̶h̶r̶o̶p̶o̶logy. Then folks will know you really mean business. Okay, now I'm just getting loopy.
I personally don't have a problem with xenoanthropology though, lol. I get that it's not "technically" right. But it communicates the right thing.
Would it not just be xenology? It's probably impossible to get an exact match because anthropology has become a gestalt of more than its roots.
Fowler used to disapprove of concision as a synonym for conciseness. If that's a thing you care about. For me, I wouldn't change one to the other in editing, but I might choose one over the other in my own writing.
🤣 Oh my god, best comment
I am not okay. I have never heard that primary pronunciation...and I'm a SFF editor. I live and breathe this word every day. What. The. HECK.
Would love to be on yours too!
Today I'm switching from spy thriller to military sci-fi. What are you working on? #amediting
😂 How much to hire you for marketing services?
Hey all! I've had a recent cancellation, so I'm looking to fill one spot in my schedule for October! I can fit in a dev edit or a line edit. Free sample edit available!
It’s #nationalampersandday! The ampersand, once the last letter of the English alphabet, combines “e” and “t” for “et.” As #academiceditors like myself know, et means “and” in Latin, seen in phrases like “et al.” and “etc.” Do you ❤️ &s? Show me your &s, whether tattoos, stickers, or logos.
I’m a queer, disabled author, with a spicy Greek myth space romantasy book coming out soon. I’ve lost the platform I built on Twitter, when I need it most & now I’m scrambling to rebuild. If you came from #writingtwitter please comment & share, so I don’t have to start completely from scratch! 💜
