With "Belrye and the Summoner" bumping up against FurAffinity's filesize cap, I posted a journal there asking people's opinions. The short version is "If you started reading it on FA and had to switch to magicfoxgames.com to read the rest, would a deal-breaker for you?" Input hugely appreciated! :-)
For those who have been following "Belrye and the Summoner", I'm currently working with the very talented Sabrina Stein to have a new title page picture, plus other illustrations sprinkled in. :-) I don't want to promise when it's happening - guess you'll just need to wait and be surprised. ;-)
If it helps, I'm pretty awful at writing them, myself. Though this reminds me that I need to update all of mine as well. :-)
Also, if your planned ride home falls thru or you suddenly realize you had a lot more to drink than you planned, see if your area has a service to get you home. Around here, the Wisconsin Tavern League runs SafeRide. It's intended to be used as a backup plan, to get people home safe. :-)
Just a quick post, for two things. :-)
1) Happy New Year! Be extra careful if you will be driving tonight.
2) A new version of "Belrye and the Summoner" has been posted! It's available on either magicfoxgames.com or on my FurAffinity (MarciTheTechMare).
Woo!
That looks awesome! :-)
I more or less know the direction I will want it to go, so that's a start at least. :-)
Thanks! :-)
Normally I don't, but there's one that I've had kicking around in my head for a while. Maybe next year I'll see if I can make it happen, but it'll be a tough one. lol
Have you ever had a story/drawing/painting/etc. that was bursting to get out, but it was so far outside your normal style, tone, or even medium that you weren't sure you could bring it to life? Or that you were afraid you'd be putting too much of yourself into it?
Finally got over the con crud today myself, lol.
It's like a hangover, only longer... lol
Thanks! My social circle has been very supportive, and MFF really cemented that yeah - this IS something I can do, step by step. :-)
Oh, yup! I posted about that toward the end of my last update on my site and FA. To make a long story short, one of the "heavy life things" I was taking a break to work through was the discovery that I am trans. Still very early steps, though. :-)
No worries! I had an awesome time, myself. Hopefully despite the rough start you had a great con too?
Even got to have my first experience being out in public as Marci. Can't even put into words how that felt. :-)
Hey from pre-Midwest Furfest! (I always love The Red Bar at the Hyatt there.) If you see this hat over the weekend, walk up and say hi, knuckle-bump, whatever! :-)
I hear you there! The nice thing is that once you have the list, you usually only have to change one or two things on it occasionally.
Making a packing list - 10 mins
Packing - 30 mins
"What an I missing?" - 3 days
lol
Thanks! Great to be back. :-)
Hey everybody! I just made some big (and good) announcements on both my FurAffinity (DaveTheFoxMage) and website (magicfoxgames.com)
It's too long to really post here, but stop in and check them out! :-)
For anyone who has tried setting up a gaming machine on Linux and can't figure out why your GPU won't work no matter what you do, make sure Secure Boot is off. Even if you're sure it is, check it one more time. Was helping someone get a shiny new machine setup and that took forever to catch! :-)
I have a rule that I have to prove to myself I'll stick with a hobby for at least 6 month before I get anything more then "eh, this will work" tools. It's served me well - by the time that has passed, I often find I prefer a different brand/style than what I originally expected anyway. :-)
Hang in there! Hopefully I'll see you again at MFF if you can make it this year. :-)
Managed to get some writing and game-dev done this weekend. I should have the next Gloria story ready as part of my late-November triumphant return, I think. :-) Also, got a few more mechanics sorted out for Post-Modern Alchemy! After the chemistry system and save/load, it'll be content time!
Thanks! I should have quite a bit to show for both, especially for December!
Thanks! Once I get through this stuff, I've got a lot planned for both writing and the new game I'm working on. Definitely looking forward to it! :-)
Thanks! I would say good life things, though the kind of things that are harder for a while before they get easier. :-)
Hey everybody. Sorry I've been rather quiet lately. There are some pretty big life-things I've been working through, as well as a brutal week or two at work. I think I'm rounding the corner on both, though. Expect a triumphant return mid/late November. :-)
If it helps, I've been through that myself. Realizing things aren't going the direction you are trying for is a big first step! Remember that there's plenty of time to course-correct, that it isn't too late (even if it feels that way), and that there are plenty of people who want to see you succeed.
Getting interviewed by the "Guys, Games, and Beer" podcast in a bit! Never been interviewed before, so it'll be exciting! I'll be talking about Post-Modern Alchemy. :-)
