Jews are targeted in shuls & online.
Brown & Black people are abducted and sent to concentration camps.
Muslims are openly targeted by politicians.
Activists & journalists are targeted by the FBI.
Trans & queer people are being outlawed.
We are in this together. This is why solidarity matters.

Everything I've heard has said that this is one of the best edge rusher draft classes in a while and there will be a lot of options of 25.
My bigger gripe is that they didn't re-sign Byard when he wasn't that expensive. Now they have to worry about a safety too.

Respectfully, eat shit. Those kids were expelled, arrested, and targeted relentlessly by their school administrations with the specific goal of preventing further protest. Eighteen year old kids were held down and maced by campus security, hit point blank with tear gas canisters by riot cops.

I don't think that's true. "Localized" doesn't mean small or rare. It just means that protests aren't well connected or centralized across communities. This century, Americans have protested much more frequently than a lot of other developed countries.

Trump isnβt that much of an outlier. Our society is littered with bosses that think whatever random idea pops in their head is gold. And they often get to do it anyway, consequences be damned.

The Media's "Pro-Worker GOP" Fever Dream Isn't Real
News outlets and pundits insist there's a growing rapport between unions and the GOP. There isn't.
i spent an inordinate amount of time dissecting why the media is obsessed with union voters and Trump, and why they keep getting it absolutely wrong when it comes to labor thehousered.substack.com/p/the-medias...

My platform doesnβt just include Medicare for All, but the addition of a more robust public health network. Public health is my specialty and itβs all too often overlooked. We have to invest in public health along with Medicare for all so that we can treat people today and prevent diseases tomorrow.

The South ending Reconstruction and plunging their populations into a backward looking culture and economy until it was forced to modernize by the Civil Rights movement is imo a very clean parallel.

I don't think American Jewish institutions like the ADL and the AJC have fully reckoned with how their behavior during the Zohran Mamdani mayoral election is going to prove to be the kind of generational mistake that will place American Jews in greater danger for years to come.

If it's "not a candidate's job motivate people to vote for her," then why bother spending all that time and money campaigning?
Hey, why spend 2 straight years giving speeches and making donor calls? Just go to the spa. It's not like it's your job to promote yourself to the public.

It actually hurts other pro-Palestine politicians like Mamdani and Abughazaleh to lump Platner in with them and pretend like the bad-faith accusations of antisemitism lobbed at them are similarly bad-faith when lobbed at Platner. This is why someone like Platner can poison a progressive coalition.

Child care workers earn less than 96% of jobs in New York State and it's Kathy Hochul's fault. There will never be enough child care for every family that needs it as long as this is the reality, but every year she does whatever she can during the state budget to keep them in poverty.

the feeling I'm getting using Claude at work is that if you're a good engineer with deep knowledge of the codebase, it can make you a lot more productive. if you're a mediocre engineer with surface level knowledge of the codebase, it can also make you a lot more productive, which is BAD.

yeah people routinely confuse ordinal claims about which groups will be affected most or worst on average with cardinal claims about which groups are safe and secure in general. privilege talk in particular did a lot to obscure the difference here as far as 2010s consciousness goes

No contortion necessary. The Israeli govt and supporters of Israel have actively spent years propping up Nazi sympathizers and global far right parties and have sought to redefine antisemitism to mean "opposition to Israel." A rise in actual antisemitism is a natural outcome of those actions.

A Jewish communal organization that really cared about fighting antisemitism would look at Zohran Mamdani and say, "He's much better at distinguishing between Jews and the state of Israel than many other critics of Israel." Instead, the ADL and AJC acted like he was the next coming of Karl Lueger.

But It's not "blaming the Jews" though. It's blaming Israel and its elected leaders. The whole point is that Israel doesn't speak for Jews, so when they perpetuate false claims of antisemitism to excuse a genocide, it makes it harder to fight actual antisemitism elsewhere.
