I find the ending sappy and overly sentimental. 'Love conquers all' is a bit trite, but I definitely seem to be in the minority.
Steven Soderbergh is overrated. Not bad by any means, just overrated. Same goes for Interstellar.
If you want to hear a really creepy story I wrote called "In the Dark There Is a Hand", it's been performed on @thenosleeppodcast.bsky.social and it's terrific and terrifying.
