Cat Power’s ‘The Greatest’ Turns 20 We reflect on the artist’s bluesy, vulnerable 2006 release ahead of her stop at Brooklyn Bowl on its anniversary tour.

Dope preview, many thanks to @avparnell.bsky.social for digging in on a Cat Power classic. (Which, I have to admit, I had skipped over, mostly because I like 'Moon Pix' so much)

Nashville Noticias staffer Estefany Rodríguez was detained by ICE in South Nashville on Wednesday morning. There was no warrant for her arrest. Her attorneys have filed an emergency petition in federal court seeking a writ of habeas corpus, or an immediate review of whether or not her detention is legal.

Rodríguez, who was in the car with her husband — a U.S. citizen — has been following all the legal steps to citizenship. In her job, Rodríguez has reported several stories that hold ICE accountable, and it’s unclear whether her detention was retaliation. As of Thursday afternoon, she was in Alabama en route to an ICE processing center in Louisiana.

Something I don’t think can be emphasized enough is how fast ICE is shipping the people they detain off to another state. “Move fast and break things” but for people in potentially life or death situations. nashvillebanner.com/2026/03/05/j...

Grateful for @littmanwrites.bsky.social taking a deep dive. This absolutely affects music venues (in my wheelhouse) but also tons of other small (and that is definitely a spectrum, yes) businesses.

Eagles’ The Long Goodbye Act III Heads to Vanderbilt The stadium tour dates in May feature support from Tedeschi Trucks Band.

And I took way too long writing up this little item about the Eagles, uh, roosting at Vanderbilt in a couple months. Most of the meat of this, tbh, is noting that Vandy hasn't hosted a heap of big outdoor shows, and this is the first one to happen during a new era for their sports programs.
