Also, jsyk there's been an influx spam bots going around on fanfic sites offering or asking to draw art of people's fics, but it just leads to trying to scam the writer out of money. So I'd just be mindful of how you word it so you're not mistaken for a bot!! Bc people are being wary of these msgs.

Yes!! At least for the most part, I write fanfic and I know I'd be over the moon in that situation, and I can't really think of anyone who writes who wouldn't be super happy. I don't think it's a bad idea to ask tho just in case, especially if the author deleted the og fic.
