I see no problem with the name Half Wood Brewing.
A Reductress post features a photo of Kristi Noem with the headline, “Kristi Noem Put Down for Being Too Hard to Train”
Screaming
I first became involved in any politics protesting Iraq and Afghanistan wars. So when this guy won, and then not only continued occupations but also expanded them to other ME/NA countries, I became permanently sick of anyone praising his foreign policy.
A British grandmother with a valid visa detained by ICE for 6 weeks.
"So why did ICE detain her, and keep her locked up for so long? ICE officers are paid a bonus every time they detain someone. 'Individual ICE agents get money per head that they detain – the guards told me that,' Karen says."
good thing so many schools over-complied in advance🙃
I am not entirely sure this guy isn't Matt Yglesias
I'm a 1 on this and pretty sure I got that count right, though I may some day relent to my conscience and increase this somewhat
Oh I've made some vegan grits but for some reason I skipped snails in first count.
Yeah I wondered if that was it, makes sense to me.
Or wait 17?
All right just curious but assuming you're maybe vegan? But I count 16 non vegan things so is there an exception item?
And yet it moves
Horrifying things here and nothing short of dissolving DHS and holding trials for all involved could ever be considered enough in response.
And what awaits these clients in Texas? Unspeakably cruel and inhumane treatment.
1. Rotten food. I had a client explain she had to make a half-pint of milk and an apple last every day because the other meals consisted of spoiled or rotten food. One client wasn’t fed for >36 hours.

I do not think that ostracizing many of the best organizers I've met whose primary concerns are labor organizing, mutual aid, and direct action, would be good for the strength of an organization.
sigh
My own cards on the table, I think focusing on electoral politics is potentially harmful or strategically misguided. It may be a worthwhile secondary or tertiary goal. If you don't build the power to discipline the elected, you risk doing work for the democrats without changing them.
I don't disagree with that but I don't think that's the case here. Even when this is the case, one should be careful to call people wreckers, exclude them, and possibly fedjacket them over good faith disagreements. Doing so is actually a better example of wrecker behavior.
I was thinking about this since reading it last night and decided to look up the poet, not knowing that it was you. Great poem.
I think this kind of attitude is pretty unkind. There are a lot of legitimate criticisms about what happens when the left focuses too much of their energy on elections, and what happens to the politics of people who win. These should be taken as good faith.
Yeah, wrecker is way too harsh

*Many in the media have proclaimed a significant change of tone for Trump, if not a major defeat, but on the ground in Minneapolis ICE kidnappers are still on the rampage*

I think one of the silliest points she makes is pro Russian Communist Party, in its current form (which is basically antisemitic, xenophobic, pro Putin).
An NYT headline reads “Federal Officers Shoot Person in Minneapolis”
It has gotten so bad that the @nytimes.com has stopped using the passive voice to describe the violence.
It’s -9 degrees. Downtown Minneapolis is packed for the anti-ICE rally and the crowd keeps growing
