I have a friend who is psychic and her husband was a homicide detective. He once asked if it bothered her that he worked with the dead. She responded by asking if it bothered him that she worked with the dead.

Bookbinding (novels and journals), plus editing and formatting textblocks of my favorite open source novels. My Etsy shop name is CGMBookworks and my website is CGMBookworks.com. The rest of my time goes to teaching piano and studying Vedic astrology

After months of work and frustration, I've finally conquered the miniature format for making books. I'm so excited that I finally figured out how to make this 1/16th size work! Now I'm off to typeset more fairy tales. #bookbinding
Casper's mini-me!
Gotta love those big ginger boys!
Getting close to the body Tomball used to have.
It doesn't really show in this picture, but those aren't glued on labels; that's a window I cut out of the cover.
After burning out three home printers, just from the volume I was printing, plus the other problems I kept having with them, I decided professional printers were the way to go.
I'm very pleased with how these turned out. Given that the original cover art for Pride and Prejudice involved a peacock, I think this cloth is a good match for that theme. #bookbinding
After all sorts of home printer issues, I have given up. When I need a textblock to make a book, I have a local printer do the printout. If I give them a single file with the imposed signatures for 10 books the price is quite reasonable. (Do NOT go to FedEx!)

And I thought my dad's peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches were weird.
I like the idea of turning people loose with the music -- no biographies or backstories. All my favorite pieces are here, but I'm not telling anyone what they are.
It's now up on Etsy. The full list of composers/compositions is on a companion website, and Iβm adding links to recommended recordings as I go. Itβs very much a long work in progress β but June is done!
Here's "The Road to Oz" textblock. The illustrator, John R. Neill, got a little carried away with the ink in this book. Took some work to turn blobs of black back into line drawings. #Bookbinding
Thanks! Working on them keeps me entertained. I do have a long to do list.
I have a few open source classic novels available on my website and in my Etsy shop, CGM Bookworks. I'm working to add more but it's weeks to edit and structure each book (longer if there are illustrations).
Always reread with "The Wheel of Time Companion" close at hand.
And just where have you been, young lady?
My first set of signatures for poetry! Robert Louis Stevenson's "A Child's Garden of Verses." I went digging and came up with illustrations from three different artists in early editions.
Love it!!!
Just wrapped up the "Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz" textblock. Getting a clean version of the artwork has taken many days. #Bookbinding
Just starting a blog to go with my website, with much trepidation. Here's one of my first attempts from "The Hound of the Baskervilles"--talking about the work that goes into restoring vintage illustrations. #bookbinding

Right there with you. In my case, it's people agitating for me to finish a textblock so that they can make their favorite novel. Yes, Pride and Prejudice is on my list, just give me another month, or two, or three.
Yes, gluey fingers will now be a part of your life.
or doing Qigong
Having learned a lot more about using Pixlr, I'm reworking the illustrations of all of my Oz books. It's a bit of a process, but I love the results. #Bookbinding
Also in designing sweaters for knitting/crocheting, algebra is your friend.
This is why, when I'm in bookbinding mode, I'll have a bunch of books going at once. Between the pressing and gluing each book takes soooo much time.
It was going to be a project that took an afternoon.
