Wow, that kinda blew up! 🤩
Thank you so much to everyone who shared, liked or purchased a shirt.
I've added the design to a few mouse pads and some other things. I hope to have some stickers made in time for VCF! ❤️

Sure, go ahead!
.. the boss made a comment about how he doesn’t expect me to visit “trans unfriendly” countries for conferences, and I’m really hoping the US doesn’t get to that state but… :(
How about you, what’s your observances?
I haven’t noticed anything so far. I’m sort of stealth tho, since I present male, but I’m “out” enough that people have commented on it to me (supportively). Hoping the current wave of bigotry doesn’t spread here to Singapore, but I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.
A while back…
ER I MEAN MY FRIEND DOES
Awesome, thanks! Appreciate the answer :)
I, uhh. Ummm. So my, er, my, erm, my friend thought we actually did evolve from monkeys and wants to know more about this? (not to hijack the thread, as a misc-gender-thing I thank you for the support)!
Look I know most of you already know this, but the Executive order about so-called “gender ideology” is patently false as we understand biology. Science does not agree with what’s written there *at all*. It’s the sex/gender equivalent of saying “we evolved from monkeys”. It’s simply incorrect.
You have to understand that back in my day, it was possible to make a career out of sending a lot of AAAAAAs to computer programs
.. and observing the power LED. I use that as part of my pxe-powered deployment stuff. Remote kvm is overkill but might turn into something v useful
Bought these “nanokvm PCIe” boards. They do hdmi capture to provide remote kvm control of a desktop PC, and have some circuitry to do remote control of the power button. I’ve got some homemade hw to do it right now (an esp8266 and a relay), since all I need is control of the power button and -
Seems poorly targetted, if they marketed it as “ever wonder what an MRI of your phone/airpods/usb-c charger/etc looks like?” they might get more hits
My other Roman Empire is that Dana Carvey's brother Brad created the Video Toaster - the Amiga-based video production system that revolutionized Television in the 90s and powered the visual effects of some of the most beloved TV sci-fi series.
Hot take: well-managed (randomly generated) written down passwords are more secure than poor passwords that are easy to remember but are guessable and/or duplicated. For many (most?) users it makes security sense to write down passwords.

Sometimes I think I’m not a good human, but then I think that if someone can’t tell the difference between me and a good human, then functionally speaking, I *am* the good human
A lot of weird root domains. Which is impressive because it's $140,000 and a bunch of infrastructure and ongoing obligations. Sony, Tata Motors, Toyota, Acccenture. To own a DNS root is to be authoritative to the world without any intermediary. Only second is .com

Did you know? Black Friday is named in honor of Rebecca Black, who invented Friday in 2011.
Bought a “Greaseweazel” - little usb board that connects a floppy disk drive nd can read any format under the sun. Going through old disks I found in UK. Greaseweazel just works, really neat, not too spendy and straightforward to use, it’s pretty cool :)
The excerpt from William and the Werewolf showing singular they spelled with a Thorn
The first known use of singular “they” is so old that not only does it pre-date singular “you,” it wasn’t even spelled with a “th”
When William and the Werewolf, in 1375 CE, used singular “they,” it was spelled with a Thorn
My “little” brother got a proper job offer, yay! He’s super smart (phd in theoretical physics for example) but I suspect he interviews poorly.. he spent a long time looking for a job, that shit grinds you down, so I’m super pleased he’s got somewhere. He’s an accountant, he loves numbers. So pleased
My version of this is “yes, finally found the nday! Time to slee- uh, time to rush out a blogpost for a few hours” :D
Currently sat at my mums house scanning a load of old photos. Lots of terrible shots I took as a Cub Scout!
It’s a fine line between keeping strong roots and living in the past. My stuff here is like a collection of relics from almost a different life. I’m not the same person I was 20 years ago, I shouldn’t cling to that persons things. But at the same time, they were the fires that forged what I am today
At my mother’s house, clearing out the last of my stuff here. I’m kinda sentimental by nature, finding it hard to part with things. I found my favourite rock from when I was a kid though (I loved rock collecting) so that’s nice, I’ll take that back with me and put it on display.
Instruction card for a Commodore 64 computer
Look what I found in the loft!
I had it on minimum brightness! It still seemed bright to me though. Hrm.
Is it a dick move to watch an inflight movie if the lights are out and people around you are sleeping? I spent ages trying to work this out, opinions?
Took my stimulant meds on Saturday and decided I should rewrite all the code that keeps my build server building. Went at it like a bull in a china shop, it’s so completely fucked now! Guess who is going to have to learn Gravy properly to fix it all >.<
