On a walk around #Conwy yesterday, I spotted something I hadn't noticed before. This magnificent #Gothic railway arch, built in 1840, through the #Medieval walls. Re-Watching Dracula (1931)!
I have to assume the real estate market in 1931 was pretty bad for an agent to travel hundreds of miles to Transylvanian mountainside to make a deal! Either that, or there was a bet amongst Realters about selling Carfax Abby & there was a prize for the one that did!
One of my older flower watercolours, sold a long time ago. Poppies, nettles and Macleaya cordata leaves in a glass jug.
Oriental poppies, nettles and Macleaya cordata leaves, watercolour. I wonder if that Macleaya (plume poppy) will come up this year? It often disappears for a while and then pops up again. It's a lovely plant, not particularly invasive.
